Wiesemann and Kirkwood Selected as 2022 Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch”
Matis Baum O’Connor is proud to announce that Best Lawyers has selected both Michael J. Wiesemann and Corey C. Kirkwood for inclusion in the 2022 Edition of its “Ones to Watch” list, an honor to recognize lawyers who are earlier in their careers for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.
Mr. Wiesemann, an associate, defends physicians and health care professionals in medical malpractice litigation. Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor in 2018, Mr. Wiesemann practiced in the Pittsburgh office of a large international law firm where he represented clients in civil litigation and managed corporate clients’ national litigation portfolios. Mr. Wiesemann previously served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jeffrey Deller of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Kirkwood, an associate, practices civil litigation with a concentration on medical malpractice defense and health care law. Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor in 2017, Mr. Kirkwood served as a law clerk to the Honorable Katherine B. Emery, President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Washington County. Mr. Kirkwood served as the coach for the Trinity High School Mock Trial Team from 2016-19, leading the team to three District Championships and two top-five finishes at the State Championship Tournament. He now coaches both the Peters Township High School Mock Trial Team and the Duquesne University Mock Trial Team. He lead the Duquesne University team to its first-ever playoff appearance last year.
