The shareholders of Matis Baum O’Connor are pleased to announce the election of R. Kent Hornbrook, Esq., Michael K. Feeney, Esq., and Cassidy L. Neal, Esq., to shareholder. “We are proud to welcome these three talented attorneys as shareholders of the firm. R. Kent Hornbrook
Mr. Hornbrook represents physicians, physician practice groups, nurses, and other health care professionals in both medical malpractice litigation and administrative matters. Mr. Hornbrook was honored as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2010. Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor in 2005, Mr. Hornbrook served as the Director of Client Relations and Development in minor league baseball with the Baltimore Orioles “Class A” affiliate, the Frederick Keys, in Frederick, MD. He earned his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law, where he also served as law clerk to the Honorable Debra Todd on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Michael K. Feeney
Mr. Feeney specializes in medical malpractice defense, nursing home litigation, physician licensing issues involving the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine, and appeals. He is also an experienced Amicus practitioner, having represented various physician membership organizations at all levels of litigation. Mr. Feeney was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in every year from 2010-16. Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor in 2011, Mr. Feeney was a staff attorney for Chief Justice Stephen A. Zappala of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and a law clerk for both the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel and the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office. Cassidy L. Neal
Ms. Neal focuses her practice on the defense of health care professionals in medical malpractice cases, civil rights actions, and professional licensing matters. Ms. Neal has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in every year from 2016-18. This selection was based on Ms. Neal’s professional achievements and peer recognition. Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor in 2012, Ms. Neal served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Judith K. Fitzgerald of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
