At Baum O’Connor Cullen Chmiel, Dominic A. Carrola applies his prior litigation skills and courtroom experience to defending healthcare professionals facing medical malpractice lawsuits.
Before joining Baum O’Connor Cullen Chmiel in 2023, Mr. Carrola served Washington County, Pennsylvania as an Assistant District Attorney where he prosecuted all manner of crimes. In that capacity Mr. Carrola represented the Commonwealth at various stages of criminal proceedings including preliminary hearings, suppression hearings, revocation hearings, trials, and during appellate, collateral, and Federal Habeas Corpus review.
Mr. Carrola has clerked for two Washington County Jurists—President Judge John F. DiSalle and former President Judge Katherine B. Emery—and completed an internship with the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Carrola obtained his Juris Doctorate degree cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law in 2019 and his Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania (CalU) where he majored in Music Technology and minored in Business.
During law school, Mr. Carrola was a member of Law Review, competed twice nationally in the Appellate Moot Court Program where he won an award for best oral advocacy, and worked as Research and Teaching Assistant to Professor Julia M. Glencer.
While at CalU, Mr. Carrola collaborated with the Department of Theater and Dance to premiere an original musical for which he composed the original songs and the score. In his free time, Mr. Carrola enjoys performing jazz piano at various venues.
